Good news: Our joint design with Schellenberg & Bäumler Architekten and studio grüngrau has won 1st prize in the competition!
On the former site of Bender-Ferndorf Rohr GmbH, an attractive urban redevelopment with model character is being created, that blends modern living, working, and culture amid high-quality open spaces. The redesign of the neighbourhood focuses on the diverse needs of different social classes and their requirements for housing. In addition to detached houses and apartment blocks, modern forms of housing such as tiny houses and communal living will be built. Community involvement was therefore a key factor in the competition process. At an open day on the site in August 2020, around 300 residents submitted ideas that were taken into account by the competition participants. “With a sensitive view of the characteristics and qualities of the site and its defining elements, the design paints an impressive picture of the future for the historic former industrial site on the Ferndorfbach,” the jury praised the winning design.
