The “Twin Cubes” office buildings in Düsseldorf are taking shape. Back in 2021, our design for the new Deutsche Rück headquarters won the unanimous approval of the jury in the restricted competition we were invited to participate in. The competition focused on the facade design and reimagining an existing plan for a standalone building. We’re also designing the entire interior for this leading reinsurance company.
When it became clear that our client would occupy only 40% of the 10,000 m2 site and lease out the rest, we had a brilliant idea – transform one building into two – the Twin Cubes. Our concept also aligns perfectly with the plans by the city of Düsseldorf for revitalizing the Heerdt district. The Twin Cubes will set the stage for the redevelopment planned for this area on the left bank of the Rhine River.
