Competition Win in Kreuztal
City expansion “holz.stahl.digital”

In a restricted competition for a sustainable, vibrant urban quarter in Kreuztal, our joint design with Schellenberg & Bäumler Architekten and studio grüngrau Landschaftsarchitektur emerged victorious among a total of 10 submissions. We look forward to continuing our successful collaboration with our partners. Our joint design for the METRO Campus in Düsseldorf already garnered recognition earlier this summer.

As part of the REGIONALE 2025 initiative in South Westphalia, we are transforming the former Bender-Ferndorf Rohr GmbH site into an attractive urban development blending modern living, working, and culture amid high-quality open spaces, serving as a model for future urban planning. This initiative aligns with the “Integrated Development and Action Concept for Kreuztal-Mitte,” aimed at leading Kreuztal’s city center into the future. The project title “holz.stahl.digital” (“wood.steel.digital”) encapsulates the core themes of the future quarter – with “wood” describing the primary sustainable material, “steel” acknowledging the site’s industrial identity, and “digital” reflecting the conceptual vision for a modern quarter.
