Construction Start at maxfrei District in Düsseldorf
A lively urban space on the former site of a prison

In the future, the once isolated site at Ulmer Höh’ in Düsseldorf Derendorf will be home to the maxfrei district, a city within the city with short distances, a livable ambiance, and a sustainable mix of uses.

Construction work for the area’s northern section has now begun. A total of 170 publicly subsidized apartments and 170 student apartments will be created by 2023. The project developers are Interboden and Hamburg Team. For our part, we’re planning two mixed-use buildings with offices and retail, a daycare center, a service point, and restaurants, plus a residential building with 27 apartments and 2 guest apartments. The projects are located on plots 1, 2a, and 2b and are still in the planning phase.

We’re pleased that construction work in the maxfrei district has begun and are proud to be part of such a large project that represents the human scale.
