This project originates from the time meyerschmitzmorkramer worked together.
Living directly on the Hofgarten park is a rare privilege, even in Düsseldorf, a city renowned for its many beautiful neighborhoods. When the former Vögeler Bank was demolished, it left a noticeable gap in the block’s edge. In 2014, we filled this void with an elegant, high-quality six-story residential building. This new structure includes two basement levels that serve as underground parking and private cellars. The south-facing facade, overlooking the courtyard garden, features light-colored natural stone arranged in an axially symmetrical design. Slender, floor-to-ceiling windows flank a bay window in pairs, a classic element of distinguished facade design that also increases the living space for the apartments on the 1st to 4th floors. The result is a highly focused building with a consistent rhythm that blends harmoniously with the surrounding neighborhood.
The penthouse, designed as a maisonette, features a roof terrace with a glass parapet overlooking the courtyard garden on the 5th floor. On the 6th floor, a dormer window with expansive panoramic glazing provides stunning views over the city’s rooftops. All six apartments span the entire depth of the building, placing living areas on the street side and the dining and kitchen areas on the garden side. Each unit also boasts a large terrace facing the tranquil inner courtyard.
