The architecture world is preparing for the event of the year: the 2025 World Architecture Festival in Miami.
And, because major events have a long lead-in time, there is already reason to be excited. The finalists who have made it onto the shortlist for various categories in this year’s WAF Awards were recently announced. Among them are two projects from Caspar! The Heinrich Campus in Düsseldorf has been nominated in the “Workplace (Large)” category, and our urban design for the former Alga site in Duisburg — the “Algarve” — has been shortlisted for the “Masterplanning” category. The “Algarve” was awarded first place in the competition itself.
Both projects will now participate in the live competition at the World Architecture Festival, which will take place in Miami from 12 to 14 November. Caspar Schmitz-Morkramer will present the concepts, ideas and details of the projects to the jury in person, first to the jury team of the respective categories and, hopefully, to the WAF Super Jury in a further round.
Caspar Schmitz-Morkramer has also been appointed as a juror, naturally in a category in which our projects are not nominated. In this capacity, he will assess and award prizes to projects, a task that carries great responsibility and prestige in this international arena.
Now it’s time to keep your fingers crossed until November! We are looking forward to a great World Architecture Festival 2025 with lots of wonderful encounters and impressions!
