At Lindenhof, the façade is being installed on the new building—our first constructed entirely from wood. Meanwhile, the linden tree has now been planted in the courtyard.
caspar. is revitalizing Lindenhof in Meerbusch Büderich. The original ensemble is being carefully preserved, continuing its long-standing gastronomic tradition while adding new residential units. The listed buildings from 1861, 1862, 1906, and 1930 are being restored and upgraded for energy efficiency, while the non-listed structures from 1940 are being replaced by appropriately scaled new wooden buildings.
What makes this transformation so compelling is the dialogue between old and new. It’s not just about what can be preserved and repurposed, but also about how much embodied CO₂ remains in the existing structures. The goal is to minimize CO₂ emissions during construction and achieve carbon neutrality in operation. Wherever possible, materials will be reused or recycled.
