“Cannes I ask you something?” On Wednesday morning, Caspar Schmitz-Morkramer met with the CEO of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) Dr. Christine Lemaitre to record the fourth episode of his podcast “Maßstab Mensch” (“Scale:Human”).

It was great of Christine Lemaitre to spare the time — because when MIPIM is in full swing in Cannes, schedules tend to get pretty full, too. Nevertheless, she gave Caspar Schmitz-Morkramer a good hour in our podcast studio, set up exclusively at the Hotel Le Canberra.

The two discussed, among other things, the topics and goals that are personally most important to Christine Lemaitre in her work at the DGNB. They talked about the complexities and contradictions of sustainable construction and whether, in the labyrinth of sustainability, where not everything is black and white, the common thread should be a gray thread rather than a red thread.
