Park Tower or: The Art of the “Fuge”
Our exemplary highrise revitalization in Frankfurt

Hello. Allow me a short prelude. “Fuge” is a small German word for a surprisingly layered idea. In construction, it is the line that both connects and separates: the narrow space between stones, slabs, or building elements. English offers “joint,” which emphasizes the connectin role, or “gap,” which highlights the dividing one. But neither quite captures the dual nature of the Fuge itself.

There is also the musical “Fuge.” It describes a composition that brings together separate, independent voices. The term goes back to the Latin “fuga” (flight, pursuit): one voice sets off, another follows; they diverge and meet again in counterpoint. And here, at least, German and English align: the musical “Fuge” becomes the “fugue” in English.
