LYGHT represents the transformation of a 1970s office building into a contemporary, sustainable workplace. Together with the MOMENI Group, we have comprehensively revitalized the former Nordsternversicherung branch in Düsseldorf’s Golzheim district and adapted it to meet the demands of a new world of work.

The starting point was the robust reinforced concrete structure of the existing building, which was constructed in 1973. By largely preserving the existing building fabric, reorganizing the building’s structure, and making targeted additions, we were able to create approximately 1,500 square meters of additional usable space. Green outdoor spaces, rooftop terraces, a double-skin façade with openable windows, and photovoltaic systems contribute to sustainable building operations and a high quality of environment.

The nomination for the 2027 DAM Prize recognizes the architectural quality and the responsible approach to the existing building fabric. It also acknowledges the close collaboration among all project participants.
