Yesterday, the connecting bridge between the helipad and the Karlsruhe Municipal Hospital and the neighboring Helios Clinic for Cardiac Surgery was inaugurated. The mayor of Karlsruhe, Bettina Lisbach, and the managing directors of the two clinics, Markus Heming (SKK) and Emre Nazli (Helios Klinik), cut the ribbon together. The new bridge is officially open!
Thanks to the new bridge, emergency patients arriving by helicopter at the SKK landing pad can now be transported directly to the neighboring Helios Clinic without detours and under optimal conditions. Transfers between the two clinics are also made easier and more convenient thanks to the direct connection. Together with Werner Sobek, we took part in the competition for the construction of the new bridge in summer 2020 and were able to convince with aesthetics and high functio-nality. The bridge spans Franz-Lust-Straße and the tramway tracks with a gentle curve – the illuminated white box girder forms a gentle S-curve. Forked columns provide stability, and white expanded metal elements with variable perforations provide light and discretion.
We are pleased with the successful completion of this project!
