Deiker Höfe, Düsseldorf: “Triple ‘D’” in the “hotelbau” Magazine
A new mixed-use neighborhood in the northern part of the city

In its May/June issue (3/2026), the trade magazine “hotelbau” features Essential by Dorint, which—as part of our Deiker Höfe development—“with its wave-shaped facade, is one of the hallmarks” of the new neighborhood in northern Düsseldorf. The six-page article devotes considerable space to the urban context and the architectural concept. “How can a vibrant neighborhood—complete with a hotel, co-working spaces, local amenities, and a daycare center—be created along a major thoroughfare that seamlessly connects to an existing residential development from the 1950s?” asks author Miriam Glaß in her introduction, initially focusing on the emerging neighborhood. “The guiding principle was the idea of a village in an urban context—a place for encounters, community, and the integration of diverse uses.” The article also explains the urban transformation of a single-use commercial site into an urban neighborhood, as well as the striking, wave-shaped facade design, which references the site’s history as a fashion hub and gives the building a distinctive identity.
