caspar. Recommends And Supports The German Pavilion!
Visit the 19th Architecture Biennale in Venice!

The theme of this year’s Architecture Biennale in Venice is “Intelligent.” Natural.” Artificial. Collective,” and is curated by Italian architect and engineer Carlo Ratti.

The German Pavilion’s contribution is entitled “STRESSTEST.” It addresses the growing issue of urban spaces overheating due to climate change. The curatorial team — Nicola Borgmann, Elisabeth Endres, Gabriele G. Kiefer, and Daniele Santucci — has created an impressive display that allows visitors to experience the physical and psychological effects of extreme heat.

The exhibition is divided into two contrasting spatial sequences. The STRESS rooms use infrared rays, thermal image projections, sound installations, and a film with thermographic images of European cities to simulate the stress caused by heat. The DESTRESS rooms present countermeasures. Greening, shading, and water storage are brought to life through atmospheric elements such as hornbeams, open skylights, and cooler room concepts. Christoph Brech’s poetic installation rounds off the presentation. It illustrates the fragility of our atmosphere.

caspar. has the great honor of supporting the German Pavilion, particularly Christoph Brech’s installation.

We hope you enjoy your time in Venice and take away many lasting impressions!
