Our project, the Karlsruhe Municipal Hospital Bridge, was honored as a “WINNER” in the „ARCHITECTURE“ category at the ceremony in Munich. Harald Bender (project lead), Johannes Feder (competition project lead) accepted the certificate.

Designed in collaboration with Werner Sobek AG, the new bridge connects the Karlsruhe Municipal Hospital and its helipad with the Helios Clinic for Cardiac Surgery. This enables direct, life-saving transport of patients. The 80-meter-long, slightly curved truss girder spans the four-lane road and the central tram tracks, blending harmoniously into the urban space with its tree-like fork supports. White expanded metal panels with variable perforations provide light and privacy.
